After careful renovation, Thomas Mann House was inaugurated in Los Angeles on June 18, 2018 as the new residence of the Federal Republic of Germany for intellectuals from culture, politics, business, media and science by Frank-Walter Steinmeier. Occhio contributes, along with other major German companies, to the interior of the villa and stands for the epitome of German creative work.
On May 25th, the exhibition UNBUILDING WALLS in the German pavilion at the 16th Architecture Exhibition La Biennale di Venezia in 2018 was opened successfully by State Secretary Gunther Adler and Federal President Michael Müller. More than 900 enthusiastic guests, the who's who of the architecture industry, celebrated this festive event. Occhio is main sponsor and thus provided atmospheric lighting at the opening party.
Mito is our masterpiece, the luminaire series convinces with its perfect combination of sensuous design and ingenious functionality. The jury of the Lighting Design Awards was altogether captivated by the series: On May 3, 2018, Mito thus received the prestigious Lighting Design Award in the category »Architectural Luminaire Interior«.
Occhio broke new ground at this year's Light + Building with its impressive »A new culture of light @The Highrise« exhibition stand, inviting visitors to experience – and enjoy – a new culture of light.
From February 6-10, 2018, only the newest products, materials and technologies in the interior and light segment were presented at Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. In 2017, the fair attracted more than 400,000 from over 60 countries.
This year, Occhio participated for the first time with an attention-catching exhibition stand fascinating visitors with its latest innovative product concepts. By participating, Occhio was able to further expand its reputation in the Scandinavian region.
At the same time, Occhio celebrated the opening of the first Occhio gallery by DECO NATION in Stockholm on February 8, 2018. With the multi-functional store concept, end customers, architects, interior designers as well as lighting designers are now able to experience the Occhio universe throughout the year in Sweden's capital. The team of the Occhio gallery is more than happy to offer expert advice and individual service.
Thereby, Occhio continues to expand its presence in the Scandinavian market.

Both cooperations are shining examples of the new “illuminated by Occhio” concept with which we support projects, businesses and institutions with our luminaires and thus develop another, new way of furthering the quality of light.
Occhio has received the TOP 100 seal of approval. For more than 20 years this award has honored mid-sized companies for outstanding innovation management and is thus the most important of its kind.
The German Lighting Design Award is the prize for outstanding lighting projects. In the Neuzelle Monastery’s Museum Himmlisches Theater, the Berlin lighting designer Konzeptlicht lighting solutions GmbH created a remarkable lighting concept which the panel of judges awarded the Lighting Design Award 2017 in the Museum category.

At the world leading Light+Building trade fair, a top-notch jury selected 42 works from the 634 projects submitted by 373 offices from 22 countries to compete for the title of best of best in architecture and interior design projects. On April 2 the awards and prizes were presented at a formal ceremony at the Congress Center in Frankfurt. The rewarded works are now on display at AIT ArchitekturSalon Cologne and will be showcased by the winners themselves with an event.

Imperial Tobacco is one of the world's leading companies in the tobacco industry. For the comprehensive lighting of the representative areas of its headquarters, completed in April 2013, lights from the Occhio Più spotlight system were used and awarded a BREEAM rating of »excellent«.
