With Aloud, you help customers create smart homes without having to compromise on interior design. What were your expectations for your own house?
Theresa Höghammar: We wanted a house that was connected to nature. The wind, the sea, the island - everything is wild and natural.
Dennis Lundell: But of course we have built in everything we enjoy. Audio systems, hidden TVs, a security system and a sophisticated lighting system. Everything is interconnected. You can turn it off with a button and the house can blend in with nature. It's all there, but you can't see it.
Why is it so important that the technology is invisible?
Dennis Lundell: The goal is always to create a fantastic space that people want to spend time in. For that, the architects and interior designers do their job - then we come in and enhance it all. The lighting design, for example, highlights the colours and textures, and we add harmonious acoustics, among other things.
Theresa Höghammar: Entering a room where the light and acoustics are perfect is a very special feeling. In Sweden, you need artificial light because it is very dark for many months of the year. So you want the technology, but not the cables. We hide them so that the senses can rest.
